Derek Scarbrough
CEO
Before founding Global Logistical Connections in 2006, Derek Scarbrough, was already fully entrenched in the logistics industry. After receiving his Global Business Degree in 2002 from the University of Florida, Derek moved to Kansas City to pursue a career in freight forwarding. In 2004, after becoming a licensed United States Customs Broker, he moved to St. Louis to assume a Branch Manager role for a Mid-West-based logistics firm. Two years later, after successfully growing the branch, he packed his bags for California and founded GLC.
Over the last 17 years, Derek has scaled GLC from a desk in a one-bedroom apartment in Long Beach to a nationwide operation serving an international audience. With five facilities throughout the United States and Colombia, Derek’s passion now lies in teaching and developing his team of 100+ employees through a culture of maximizing individual potential that continues to move GLC forward towards its global ambitions.
