What is Intermodal Transportation?

Intermodal, also known as Multimodal Transport, refers to the movement of cargo, using multiple modes of transport.  Most commonly used for long-haul distances more than 500 miles, it is one of the most efficient ways of transporting domestic goods.

We can attribute such declines due to a higher demand of consumers requesting “quick ships”, largely impacted by COVID-19.

The rest of 2021 looks strong. 

Given the current market situation, Port congestion, lack of chassis, driver shortages, etc, Intermodal is expected to have a strong recovery at the end of 2021.  The growth in the market and lack of drivers have Logistics companies looking for more reliable transportation and cheaper options, and the number of Intermodal shipments is expecting a stronger comeback in the upcoming years.
