Congrats to the Employee of the Quarter for Q3 2020!
Marcela Amaya Munoz is a rising star within the GLC Corporation. Her ambitious spirit, coupled with her relentless customer service, has earned her the coveted Employee of the Quarter accolade, a title bestowed upon her by the entire GLC leadership team.
Last week, I sat down with Marcela to learn more about her GLC journey and find out what she has in store for the future.
Q: Marcela, how did you get started with GLC?
A: I started with GLC as an intern in 2018. I went to California, intending to learn more about U.S. Logistics processes. It was my first time living abroad, and I was terrified but had a lot of dreams in my suitcase, which kept me determined. The operations team in L.A. made me feel right at home, supporting me through the transition and taking the time to teach me everything I needed to know. The internship was a great experience.
Q: How did you get to where you are now?
A: After my internship finished and it was time for me to go back to Colombia. GLC offered me a full-time position at the Bogota office as a member of the pricing team. I am currently working alongside my colleagues to develop U.S. Imports into the West Coast and support our partner agents worldwide.
Q: What’s next? What does the future hold for you?
A: The opportunities are endless. Since being with the company, I have had the chance to practice different languages, increase my capabilities, and grow in all aspects of my life. I feel appreciated and hope to be with the company for many years to come, discovering new paths for growth and personal development!
